Snack & Shop! Announcing the Grand Opening of “The Hungry Pelican” in Snohomish, WA

The Hungry Pelican, a Collectibles and Delectables shop, announces its Grand Opening on Friday, November 16 through Sunday, November 18, 2012. There will be special discounts and tastings throughout the store all weekend. On Friday, November 16 at 5:00 PM, there will be a special ribbon cutting led by Mayor Karen Guzak welcoming the store to Historic Snohomish. Everyone is invited to enjoy the event.

The Hungry Pelican brings Collectibles and Delectables together, a unique combination of great foods and finds.  Most of the décor is a collectible looking for a new home. From antique to new including limited edition arts, hand crafted gifts, and silly little treasure.  Buy a vintage jar or picnic basket and have it filled with snacks, candies or fresh baked goods from the snack bar for a discount; a unique quick gift or afternoon in the park.

The Hungry Pelican offers a snack bar with delicious fresh fare; including canapés, sandwiches, salads, daily Specials, baked goods and refreshments. Bringing immersion brewing to Snohomish, taste the smooth flavor of made to order Clara Vista Coffee and Market Spice Teas. Also featuring Pacific Northwest specialty Sodas, Beers, Wines and Hard Cider by the glass. Enjoy relaxed seating amongst collectibles and art works, or nosh as your peruse.

The shop’s doors have been open since September 28. Visitors have enjoyed the new ambience of the 1930’s shop located at 113 Avenue C, Snohomish, WA. The shop offers a cozy front room with lounge style seating and light filled windows. The back room snack bar is a conversational kitchen with opened beam ceilings and a landscape mural of Snohomish Valley by local artist David Heck. A great place for small groups to meet, students to study, or friends to relax. Togo orders can be can be called in ahead. Free Wi-Fi is provided.

The Hungry Pelican is a first time venture for locals Jason and Terra Kelly, excited to combine a lifelong passion for collecting with Terra’s love and career with the Culinary Arts. Chef Terra creates feel good food, and believes there can be a lot of flavor in a little bite. Price and portion conscious, visitors say their meals are “just right”. Platters or boxed lunches can be custom designed for gatherings and meetings.
